Traxtion invites all South African previously disadvantaged women who are looking for financial aid to pay for their studies in the disciplines below, to apply for the TraxWagon Bursary.

- Diesel Mechanics
- Boilermakers
- Fitters and Turners
- Supply Chain and Logistics
- Warehouse and Inventory Management
Our target for the bursary is primarily students that satisfy the criteria below:
- Female applicants who are between the ages of 18 – 35 years.
- Strictly TVET College applications for engineering studies.
- Admitted or registered for the 2026 academic year.
- Must possess a valid Identity Document of RSA.
- Reside in North West, Free State, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, and Gauteng, where Traxtion has a footprint.
- Display an average of 60% of academic performance in their final matric results.
To apply, students must complete the online form, and for consideration documents below must accompany every application:
- Proof of acceptance in a letterhead of the respective TVET College or equivalent for all other studies
- Latest examination results
- Proof of address
- Letter of recommendation by the school principal or lecturer in the institution where the student is registered
- Copy of a valid ID
- Curriculum vitae
Conceptualised around one of the key assets that progresses rail, WAGON is an acronym for Women’s Advancement and Growth Opportunity Network – thus TraxWAGON. This bursary fund is an extension of Traxtion’s Future of Rail is Women campaign, and it aims to capacitate females with technical knowledge and skills necessary to redress gender representation in the rail industry.
